Habe dieses Buch und C 5.0 Unleashed von Bart De Smet gelesen, um auf den aktuellen Stand zu kommen Im direkten Vergleich schneidet dieses Buch f r mich deutlich besser ab es ist viel klarer strukturiert Alles wird logisch entwickelt, ohne st ndig auf sp tere Kapitel vorzugreifen Man hat das Gef hl, die Sprache entwickelt sich vor den Augen des Lesers konsistent und stimmig Das klingt selbstverst ndlich, aber C 5.0 Unleashed ist das komplette Gegenbeispiel dort wird z.B auf Seite 40 NGEN vorgest [...]

F r Beginner ist das Buch schon ganz in Ordnung Erfahrene Programmierer erfahren hier nur wenig neues Die Texte selbst sind aber ohne gr ere Kritik gut geschrieben.

This is just how I think a book about programming should be Starting from a fairly basic level, it gives you a complete overview without going into unnecessary details Throughout the book, the author explains the reasoning for the language design, be it historical, related to Java, Win32 or something else He also provides best practices, and last but not least the code examples are excellent The have the minimal number of lines needed to show the approach, and never give you the feeling you need [...]

I love this book I have the Building Windows Applications VB C book that Jesse Liberty co authored and with this book you have an indispensable pair of developer books Lots of neat little tricks in here.

I must confess though that I haven t read this cover to cover yet My initial impression is very favorable I thought when I ordered this book that it was just a later edition of Jesse Liberty s C book But, if it was meant to be as the cover art suggests it is completely re written and updated for C 5.0 Some of the explanations in this book are in depth and there is less dependency on code examples than in Liberty s C that always seemed to introduce idioms that hadn t been fully discussed in the [...]

Great book for version 5.0 Easier than Maruc C to follow along with Good examples, and easy to read.
